Outback Antics, behind the scenes!
Outback Antics was created by Jim Moll. Jim is aged 43, and grew up on a sheep property near Derrinallum, Western Victoria. He completed Agricultural Science at the University of Melbourne in 1989. He is an Agricultural Scientist/Economist by trade. Jim gets his inspiration from his up-bringing on the land, and his regular outback travelling.
Outback Antics began in about 1992, as an annual range of Christmas cards Jim sketched up each year, to give to friends. As their popularity grew, the photocopier was no longer able to handle the volume, and the cards have been professionally printed for the last few years and sold throughout Australia and overseas.
- Jim and his wife Lencia have moved from Mt Isa to Benalla, and enjoyed (before kids) spending their spare time doing things like, camping, biking, dirt-biking, canoeing, socialising, 4wdriving, and other outback adventures!
Jim has worked in Agricultural research and consulting for many years, while Lencia has worked as an outback nurse in rural and remote communities and also with the RFDS, and is now an educator. They now have kids–Charles, Olivia, Albert and little Mary – who use up any spare time very well.
